Traditional warranty cost analysis focuses on information collected from the service team in the process of servicing the warranty items. This may include factors such as geography, product factors, build date and so forth. While this analysis can be very useful, much more can be done using Industry 4.0 technologies.
For example, for smart connected products, telemetry data can be collected from the failed items for incorporation to the analysis. For smart connected operations, the detailed information of what happened to that item as it was manufactured can be analyzed. Correlations can be made between process variables and items that end up in warranty. Augmented Reality solutions can be used for remote support, enhanced training and more.
In our webinar, we explore how we have helped our customers improve their warranty costs using these techniques.
